The start screen displays various topic headers (Technology, News, Cover Stories, and so on) along with pictures in tiles. You can even add topic of your choice and the app would fetch the latest news on the topic. In fact, Flipboard even allows you to add your choice of news sources. Select a topic to view latest articles from various sources compiled together in a rich interface.

You can even add your Facebook and Twitter accounts and the app will create a visual magazine style feed for status updates, photos and videos shared by your friends.

Navigating the app is simple – you swipe up on an article to view the next article or tap on it to view the entire article. If you want news on specific topic, handy search functionality is built-in that lets you search for topics, people or hashtags. Flipboard will search through user curated Flipboard magazines, RSS feeds, blogs, websites as well as your connected social network accounts – Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

You can signup for a Flipboard account using Google, Facebook or email for additional benefits. With an account in place, you can save articles to your favorite read later service as well as share articles on your social networks. However, the biggest benefit is that you can use the same account on multiple devices to sync your reading list, settings and personalized magazines.

Flipboard even lets you create and share a personalized magazine under different categories. Populate your magazine as your browse through the articles on Flipboard to your magazine. The magazine can be kept private or made public to share with other users.

The app is ad supported. A widget is also available for Android devices to access your news from a home screen.
