Harish writes – "I have been using laptop for the past one year and over these years, I had faced lot of issues starting from finding the right slot for the accessory to software issues. For example the issue that i now face is the heating of the laptop, I am not sure whether it is worthy to buy a cooling pad for my laptop. I searched the net, but couldn’t find a reliable answer. Please advice me whether i should buy a cooling pad."
Here’s what my friends on twitter and facebook have to say about cooling pads:
Suraj Chandrakar – If you’re spending on a Thermaltake or a Belkin, yes, they do!
Supreet Sharma – yea they do .. not much of a use on desk thou, but wen ur on ur bed they do help.
Richard Frisch – I use a simple, inexpensive plastic sheet with rubber feet on bottom and top to keep my MacBook Pro off me and relatively cool. No moving parts.
Vani Doraisamy – Yes,they do, even the inexpensive ones that sell for $5 on ebay seem to do the trick.Ask him to go for it.
Soumyadip – @labnol They are helpful if you use them on the bed. But I think the basic one without the fan and USB serves fine. Costs Rs 320.
Lee Mathews - @labnol i’ve had good results with Thermaltake’s iXoft
Harisn: @labnol Yeah, but only to some extent. Not very effective though.
KARTHIKJAI: @labnol It can reduce some of the heat. Have seen it at action at a friends place.
