Affiliate Links on Blogs Violate FTC Guidelines

If your blog includes paid software reviews or you are including affiliate links to the Amazon store on your web pages or you are making sponsored tweets or you are writing something on a Facebook fan page in exchange for money without disclosure, you are probably violating the FTC guidelines.

The post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement. Thus, bloggers who make an endorsement must disclose the material connections they share with the seller of the product or service. And a paid endorsement – like any other advertisement – is deceptive if it makes false or misleading claims. Link
