Maya Bisineer has some great advice for Twitter users who are new to the game:

Twitter, to you, will appear as one hell of a crazy party if you peek through the windows. You’ll see everything you see in a party gone out of hand – seriously drunk people, the weirdos, the fashionistas, the celebrities, the pukers, the babblers and all.

If you want to enjoy this party and meet all the really awesome people that are sitting out on couches in the far corners of the space, make sure you let your passions guide you.

When you turn away from that noise and focus on something else, you start to hear the really great conversations. Stop trying to peek and crowd around the “celebrities” and you will start to see the real people that YOU will love to connect with.
