Greetings and thank you for the information on your blog. I am a Marketing Director for a non-profit called Cultural Survival, I also run one of our projects, the Cultural Survival World Bazaar. I was in the process of updating and expanding the Bazaars Pages and wanted to include video clips of bazaars. Before i am able to make our own video’s this summer I wanted to use what customers/attendees already have used. They have posted long videos on youtube and myspace video. I came across your answer page entitled 10 Interesting Things You Can Do with YouTube or Google Videos, you mentioned gettign the FLV Parser – software which would allow us to take clips of these youtube videos and make a series of shorter-to-the-point videos for our website.

MY QUESTION IS ARE MYSPACE VIDEOS FLV FORMATS, MEANING CAN THEY BE TREATED THE SAME AS A YOUTUBE VIDEO OR ARE THEY SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAT I WILL NEED A DIFFERENT TYPE OF SOFTWARE TO GET CLIPS FROM? ALSO I ASSUME THAT FOR EACH VIDEO WE WILL HAVE TO CONTACT THE CREATOR FOR PERMISSION (I HOPE THEY ARE REACHABLE), IS THIS ASSUMPTION CORRECT TO YOUR KNOWLEDGE?
